Good Housekeeping

This morning I was flipping through one of my favorites writers Barbara Johnson's book and found this poem that made me think alot::

GOOD HOUSEKEEPING

Lord, it is not the dirt and clutter in plain sight that nag at me.
it's the hidden dirt....you know, behind the refrigerator,
in the closets, under the bed.
Dirt that no one sees or knows about but me.

It's the same way with my life, God
It's those hidden sins that I can't keep up with....those
pretty little grievances, the grudges, the resentments,
the unspoken harsh feelings the superior attitudes.
thoughts and feelings that no one else knows about but
me....and You, God.
Help me Father, to clean my heart as I would clean my home.
Take away all dust and cobwebs of pride, ill feelings and prejudice.
The dirt behind my refrigerator will never hurt anyone.
The dirt in my heart will.  -Author Unknown

Let the Lord come into your heart and give Him those very intimate parts that you are hiding and have been letting it become dirty, dusty and dingy.  Let the Lord do a clean up in your life, in your heart, give Him everything that is not letting you go forward towards your goals.  Remember The Lord always wants the best for your life!

New Year Resolutions?!

"A New Year resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a personal goal, project, or the reforming of a habit. This lifestyle change is generally interpreted as advantageous. A New Years Resolution is generally a goal someone sets out to accomplish in the coming year.Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals."

Happy New Year to all my friends! May this year 2011 be a year of great changes and awesomeness to all! Definitely lots of Blessings to all!!

Every new year people all over the world start with a resolution list: improve health, improve finances, improve self, etc. I have never written one complete list because I know I will not do it or I will procrastinate because we expect to do to much and don't give a time frame for it.  So I decided this year "one step at a time resolutions" Today I am working on one of my resolutions, to write on my blog once a week! So I am going to be speaking out more often this year! haha! Well I guess that will be less depressed and more inspiration! I can try!

Setting new goals and changing lifestyles is never an easy task but if you work on it and ask God for help you can do it! last week I was watching a program on TLC "Hoarding" (general terms for the accumulation of food and other items) and it impacted me alot! They accumulated so much "junk" they were buried in there garbage! Well what impacted me the most was the percentage of women hoarders, the one common trigger, depression.  Dear God!  depression can  get you to be like that? Yes it really makes us so bad you forget who you are and what you were created for! The other trigger was being left by a spouse or a partner (divorced or dumped).  That made me so mad what we do because another person hurts our feelings! We should never let ourselves be mistreated or misguided by another human being yet we do give other the authority to make us feel worthless!  I know it is hard because I have done exactly that I let another human being treat me like junk! Got so depressed and almost lost my life for that junk!

These people (hoarders) lose alot and are so low self esteem it made me wonder and ask myself :How can we let ourselves get into this type of situation? God doesn't want us like this! God didn't make us to be depressed! God made us to worship Him! God inspired me through that program to work on another resolution and also started it immediately and I love it, it is making monthly scheduled lunch with a friend that I haven't seen in a while or that I feel is passing through a hard time of her own, lunch or coffee and it has been rewarding more to me than any other thing I can imagine to do!

We have to change our lifestyle and stop suffering alone and letting the bird build a nest in your head and poop on us! Change who you go out with, change what you eat, what you listen to, what you watch, who you hang out with, speak out let someone know about your emotional turmoils, look for professional help, join a prayer group, a support group! Do something positive this 2011 just for you!! and for your family's sake! Make this change a "New Years Resolution"! give it a time frame and enjoy new goals and life changes!

Always remember:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29.11

Porque yo sé muy bien los planes que tengo para ustedes —afirma el Señor—, planes de bienestar y no de calamidad, a fin de darles un futuro y una esperanza. Jeremias 29.11

God always wants the best for us! It's that we always forget that little detail! Detox your mind from negative thoughts and change your thinking to positive and blessed thoughts from the Lord!

Many Blessings to all!!

Your friend Evelyn!!
